Makeup has always been fun for me. I remember sneaking into my mom’s bathroom to play with it at age 5 and by late elementary I was obsessed. If they would have had YouTube tutorial videos back then I would have probably never left the house!
All this to say, I wear makeup pretty much every day and have since I could convince my mom to let me. Even when life is super busy it’s something that I’ve always taken the time for because I just feel more “me” with it- and it’s fun! It doesn’t really take much time at all for a quick everyday look. Here is my 5-10 minute face. Just scroll over product names for links.
Step 1– Start with clean, moisturized skin
Step 2– Base. You have to start with a good base so here is where I (attempt t0) conceal circles, blemishes and make my skin look smooth and clear.
Foundation- IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream– It’s SPF 50 and includes a physical sunscreen so I especially like this for summer. I use Fair in the winter and Light in the summer.
Concealer- Lancome Effacernes in Light Bisque. Is it just me or does everyone hate pronouncing Lancome names? I’ve been using the stuff for years and still resort to pointing at what I need when I’m at the counter!
Powder- Rimmel Stay Matte in Transparent. My favorite and it’s inexpensive (like $5!).
Step 3– Blush and Bronzer- To add color and dimension.
Blush- Urban Decay Afterglow– I like it. Still searching for my holy grail blush though.
Bronzer- Benefit Hoola Lite. This was a random purchase and I love it! No shimmer and it works really well with fair skin. The little flat brush is also nice for sweeping under your cheekbones for a bit of contour.
Step 4– Eyes and Lips. This is what separates “everyday” looks from more dramatic ones. I’m going with light colors and simple techniques for everyday.
IT Naturally Pretty Palate. I loooove how soft these colors are. So easy to blend. I usually just choose a light color to apply all over my lid and then shade my crease with a medium shade.
Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner in Whiskey- I always go back to this brand. It never dries out on me. I think this pencil is actually 2 years old….
It Cosmetics Brow Power. A spoolie on one side, color on the other. And it’s a nice cool color that really does work for blondes. This is great for quick brow fills. No super intense brows for me- I’ve tried end up looking like a comic-book villain.
Lashes- My most favorite mascara ever – and I forgot to photograph it. Superhero by IT Cosmetics. I have recommended this to so many people and they all love it too!
Lips- Just a little shiny gloss. I rarely wear lipstick for everyday looks.
As you can see there are a lot of IT Cosmetics listed. They seem to give lots of gift-with-purchase samples out at Ulta and that’s how I got hooked on them!
Before and after. Took less than 10 minutes including taking the photos!
Only one more day until the weekend! Have a good one!
